The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and Design at Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management (YIASCM), Mangaluru, successfully organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on "Emotional Intelligence for Educators" on 18 March 2026 at LH 68, Kulur Campus.
The session was conducted by Mrs. Vinatha K, Retired Professor from the Department of Psychology, St. Agnes Degree College, Mangalore. The programme aimed to enhance educators' understanding of emotional intelligence and its significance in effective teaching, classroom management, and professional relationships.
The session focused on key components such as self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, motivation, and social skills. Through interactive discussions and practical examples, participants gained insights into managing emotions, handling stress, and fostering a positive learning environment.
The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. Jeevan Raj (Principal I/C), Prof. Shareena P (Dean), and Mr. Narayan Sukumar A (Vice Principal). The programme was coordinated by Dr. Vasanth Kumar, HoD and Dean, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Deekshitha Prashanth.
The FDP witnessed active participation from faculty members and was highly appreciated for its relevance and practical approach, contributing to the professional and personal development of educators.
