The Department of Management, Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management (YIASCM), in association with the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) organized a Panel Discussion and Workshop on the topic *“Gen AI – The Next Workforce”* on 3 February 2026 at the YMK Auditorium and Computer Lab, YIASCM, Kulur. The program was organized for the 1st and 2nd year students of BBA (BMDM) and BBA (E&IBA).
The program commenced with an introduction to the theme “Gen AI – The Next Workforce”, highlighting the relevance of Generative Artificial Intelligence in shaping future careers. The panel discussion featured Dr. Sheethal Mahendher Head of Academic Analytics, Mr. Shyam Prasad, Start-up Founder and Corporate Trainer and Ms. Nandha Devi, Regional Manager – Business Relationship ISDC. The discussion was moderated by Dr. Parameshwar Hedge, Faculty, Department of Computer Science, YIASCM. The speakers shared their insights on the impact of Gen AI on the workforce, industry expectations, and the importance of upskilling students to meet future challenges. The session concluded with an interactive workshop held in the Computer Lab by Mr Shyam Prasad S, where participants gained practical exposure to Gen AI tools, making the program informative and impactful.
As part of the industrial visit to Mumbai and Lonavala, the final year students of BBA (HAMT) visited the RBI Monetary Museum on the first day. The visit aimed to provide students with an understanding of the evolution of Indian currency and the functioning of the Reserve Bank of India.
The visit began with a 20-minute session on the introduction of Indian currency coins and notes, tracing their history from the Uttar Pradesh era to the present day. The session provided valuable insights into the development of India's monetary system. Following the session, the students were taken on a guided tour of the museum, led by representatives of RBI. The tour covered various exhibits showcasing the history of Indian currency, including ancient coins, paper currency, and modern-day monetary systems.
The students gained a deeper understanding of India's monetary history and the role of RBI in shaping the country's economy. The visit provided a unique opportunity for students to learn about the evolution of currency and its impact on the economy.
The visit to the RBI Monetary Museum was a valuable learning experience for the students, providing them with practical insights into the functioning of the Indian monetary system. The session and guided tour were informative and engaging, making the visit a success.

On 28th January 2026, the students of *final year BBA (HAMT)* with class strength of 60 students, YIASCM visited Yenepoya Hospital, Derlakatte as part of an academic exposure programme.
The visit began with an orientation session conducted by the hospital staff *Ms.Sunaina* (Asst Hospital Operations Officer) and *Mr Danish* (Asst Manager Operations) who briefed the students about the functioning of the hospital and the importance of patient care, medical ethics, and professionalism in healthcare services. The students were split into three groups and were guided through various departments by three trainee staff of operations department who introduced them to hospital administration, diagnostic facilities, and clinical practices.
During the visit, the students observed the working of different units and gained insights into the roles and responsibilities of healthcare professionals. The hospital personnel explained the procedures followed in patient management, safety measures, and the importance of maintaining hygiene and discipline within the hospital environment.
The visit provided practical exposure and helped students relate their theoretical knowledge to real-time hospital practices. It enhanced their understanding of healthcare systems, teamwork among medical professionals, and the significance of hospitals in society.
Overall, the hospital visit was an informative and enriching experience for the students. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Deekshitha Rani and Mr. Abhishek, faculty members, who coordinated and accompanied the students throughout the visit.
A Higher Education Orientation Programme was successfully conducted for the students of the Department of Commerce and Management with the objective of guiding, inspiring, and preparing them for future academic and professional pathways. The programme featured an expert session by Mr. Ajay Nair, representing the International Institute of Medical Science & Technology Council (IIMSTC), affiliated with NITI Aayog, Government of India, who shared valuable insights on higher education opportunities, 2026 study-abroad trends, ethical global migration guidance, and common mistakes students should avoid. The event was graced by the presence of Ms. Neekshitha Mr. Shahid, Head of the Department of Management & Commerce, Mr. Sajan, Placement Officer, and other faculty members. The programme commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Anushree and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Madhura, making the orientation informative, well-organized, and highly beneficial for the students.
