YENIXA 2026 Inaugurated at YIASCM: Industry Leaders Call for a Future-Ready Mindset

Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce & Management (YIASCM), Kulur Campus, witnessed the grand inauguration of YENIXA 2026 - Traverse Time on Monday, February 16, at the YMK Auditorium. The intercollegiate fest brought together enthusiastic student teams from various colleges, marking the beginning of a vibrant celebration of talent, innovation, and multidisciplinary engagement.

In a highly impactful keynote address on "Preparing for the Job of the Future," Chief Guest Mr. Vasudev Kamath, Vice President & Development Centre Head, Infosys, Mangaluru, underscored the need for students to build a mindset rather than confining themselves to a single field. He stressed that the future belongs to those who can adapt, learn, and excel across domains. Highlighting the concept of hybrid careers, he encouraged students to connect the dots across disciplines and develop universal skills. "Technology may open doors, but human skills make you walk through them," he remarked, urging students to cultivate curiosity, adaptability, and discipline. He also emphasized early networking beyond virtual platforms, participation in multidisciplinary projects, and stepping out of comfort zones. "A degree defines your foundation, but skills and mindset define your future," he concluded. Guest of Honour Mr. Sajeev Gulati, Chairman and CMD, Entreport Cargo Group, UAE, shared insights from the logistics and aviation industry, noting that excellent minds place India in a strong global position. He encouraged students to prepare themselves for multiple professional roles in an evolving global economy.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Leena K C, Principal, Yenepoya Nursing College, a constituent unit of YENEPOYA (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, spoke about the role of mentors in identifying potential and guiding students toward platforms that help them explore and grow. She appreciated the initiative taken by students-whether guided by mentors or self-motivated-to participate and learn. In his presidential remarks, Prof. Jeevan Raj, Principal (I/c), YIASCM, expressed gratitude to all participating colleges and their heads for sending student teams, thereby contributing to the grand success of YENIXA 2026. He lauded the organizing committee and faculty coordinators for their systematic efforts in conducting the inaugural ceremony.

Delivering the introductory remarks, Prof. Shareena P, Dean - Faculty of Commerce & Management, YENEPOYA (Deemed to be University), and Vice Principal, YIASCM, emphasized the importance of stepping beyond classroom learning and engaging in platforms that nurture leadership, creativity, networking, socializing, and collaboration.

Mr. Narayan Sukumar A, Vice Principal, YIASCM, and Programme Coordinator Bindiya G from the Department of Computer Science, along with Heads of Departments, staff members, and Student Council members, were present. The gathering was welcomed by Ms. Neekshitha V Shetty, Head, Department of Management, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. Savitha from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences. The programme was compered by Dr. Shinu Asmy V S, Faculty, Department of Linguistics, along with Ms. Krithi K K from the Department of Management.

As part of YENIXA 2026, a total of 17 competitions are being conducted across various academic and cultural domains. The fest has drawn an impressive participation of 651 students from 35 colleges in and around Mangaluru, as well as from different parts of Karnataka and neighbouring states, making it one of the largest intercollegiate gatherings hosted by YIASCM. With strong industry-academia interaction and enthusiastic student engagement, YENIXA 2026 has set a dynamic tone for collaborative learning and future-ready skill development.
