The Department of Pharmaceutics at Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Research Centre celebrated National cGMP Day 2025 on October 16, 2025, with great enthusiasm. As directed by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), this annual observance, organized in collaboration with bodies such as the Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA), aimsto promote awareness of Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) among students and faculty, emphasizing their importance in both pharmaceutical education and industry.The Chief Guest and Resource Person, Mr. Dinesh chandra A. Hegde, Managing Director of Vasudha Lifecare Sciences Ltd., Brahmavar, and its coordinator, delivered an insightful talkon the significance of cGMP in achieving sustainable quality through continuous improvement and modern technologies. He stressed that quality should be built into every stage of manufacturing and design, not just verified through final testing.As part of the CGMP Day e-poster and video-making competition was conducted to the students, were awarded with cash prize. The e-poster winner was Ms. Neha Mahroof, a fourth-year Pharm D student, and Mr. Safwan, a fifth-semester B.Pharm student and video-making competition winner was Mr. Ajay, a 1st-semester M.Pharm Pharmaceutics at Yenepoya Pharmacy College and Research Center. The judge of this competition was Dr Akhilesh Dubey, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Science.The event was graced by Mohammed Gulzar Ahmed, Principal; Dr. Rokeya Sultana, Vice Principal; and Dr. Soumya, Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics, along with facultymembers and students. Also present were Mr. Mithun B. Shetty, General Manager, and Mr.Sushil Kumar, QA Manager, from Vasudha Lifecare Sciences Ltd., who shared their perspectives and experiences from the pharmaceutical industry, enriching the session with valuable insights.
