School visit to Manipal Milk Diary and Manipal Musuem

The Department of Commerce, YIASCM, Kulur, organized a study visit to Manipal on 10th September 2025 under the Quality Education Goal of the Sustainable Development Goals.A total of 30 students from the B.Com (BAA and IMA) courses participated in this visit, along with the staff coordinators Ms. Sharmila P. Nayak, Ms. Colin Janet, and Ms. Nubeera.We left the college at 9:30 a.m. and reached our first destination, The KMF Nandini Milk Dairy, where the students gained knowledge about different processing units such as testing milk adulteration, salt testing in the microbiology lab, processing butter into ghee, the culturing process for curd, and packaging of lassi and milk in both vertical and horizontal packing systems.Our next destination was the Manipal Museum of Anatomy and Pathology. The museum, equipped with more than 3,000 specimens, provided a detailed view of various anatomical and pathological

conditions of the human body as well as certain animals.The students showed keen interest in observing and understanding the structure of the human body and the major functions of each organ system, which gave them a deeper overview of human anatomy and pathologyThis study trip had a valuable outcome, as it enhanced the students' knowledge across various topics. The participants expressed their gratitude for being a part of this enriching experience.
