On the occasion of World Nature Conservation Day, the Eco Club of Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management (YIASCM), Kulur organized an educational study visit to Soans Farm, Beluvai, Moodbidri on 28th July 2025. The visit was coordinated by the Eco Club student members, under the guidance of Mrs. Sharmila P. Nayak, Eco Club Faculty Coordinator, and Mr. Anandavelu, Physical Education Instructor.A total of 72 students actively participated in the event.Soans Farm, spread across 70 acres, is known for its wide variety of exotic and tropical fruits including pineapple, pepper, nutmeg, rambutan, mangosteen, durian, avocado, and many more. The farm is also home to rare flowering plants such as Amherstia from Burma, Brownea, Courbaril, and the Diesel Tree from South America. It hosts around 26 species of both native and exotic bamboos. Visitors were treated to fresh, preservative-free pineapple juice without any added sugar or coloring agents.
During the visit, students learned about conventional and multistoried cropping patterns as well as sustainable farming methods. The study visit provided a valuable learning experience, enhancing students' understanding of sustainable agricultural practices and the importance of conserving nature.
