IGNITE SAFETY: Fire and Safety Awareness & Mock Drill

The institution successfully conducted IGNITE SAFETY: Fire and Safety Awareness & Mock Drill on 06-10-2025, aimed at promoting awareness on fire safety, emergency response, and preparedness among students and staff.
The program witnessed participation from around 300 individuals, including BBA students(Youth Red Cross Value Added Course), B.C.A. students(NSS Value Added Course), NSS Unit-5 volunteers, and institutional staff comprising Maintenance staff, Security staff, and Non-teaching staff.
The event was graced by *Mr. Pramod B Sunkad, District Fire Officer*, as the *Chief Guest and Resource Person*, accompanied by *Mr. Dixon Windsor Fernandes*, *Fire Safety Assistant*, Yenepoya(Deemed to be University), and *Dr. Jeevan Raj*, *Principal-in-Charge*, YIASCM. Mr. Sunkad was supported by a team of *eight members* from the Kadri Fire Station.
The session began at 11:15 am with Presidential Remarks by the Principal, followed by an awareness session on types of fire, safety measures, and handling of fire incidents. This was succeeded by a mock drill and live demonstration, where students and staff actively participated in Evacuation Procedures, Rescue Techniques, and use of Fire-Safety Equipments, including the fire vehicle hose demonstration.
The program concluded successfully, achieving its goal of enhancing fire safety awareness and preparedness among the campus community.
